This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website located at https://www.repentapp.com ("Website") and our mobile application ("App"). Please read this policy carefully to understand how we handle your data.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information from our users:

Name: We collect your name to personalize your experience
Email: Your email address is required for account-related notifications and to send you updates.
Payment Information: We collect payment information solely for processing your orders securely. Rest assured that we prioritize your payment data's security.
Prayer Content: The text of prayer requests you submit through our platform.
IP Address: Collected when submitting requests or praying for others. This is used for rate limiting (preventing abuse), identifying your requests for deletion, security analysis, and basic location identification at the country level. Older IP data associated with inactive requests may be anonymized after a period of inactivity.
User UUID: If you create an account or have premium features, a unique identifier is stored to link your prayer requests, prayers for others, submissions, and premium status.
Interaction Data: Records of which prayers you've prayed for and your interactions within the app.
Device Permissions: We request permission for Notifications (to send reminders/prompts if you enable them) and Photos (to allow you to save/share images from the app). We explicitly do not use the Microphone.
Local Preferences: Notification settings are stored locally on your device.
API Usage Data: We track API requests (including IP address, user UUID if logged in, and the endpoint accessed) for rate limiting, debugging, and service improvement.
Non-Personal Data: We use web cookies to gather non-personal information about your browsing preferences. These cookies help enhance your user experience and analyze website traffic.

2. How We Use Your Data

We collect and use your data for the following purposes:

Order Processing: Your name and payment information are essential for processing orders you make through our platform.
Core Service Provision: To display and submit prayers, which is the primary function of our application.
Abuse Prevention: To enforce rate limits and prevent spam or abuse of our platform.
Account Management: To manage user accounts and premium features effectively.
Notifications: To send push notifications if you opt-in to receive them.
Media Sharing: To enable image saving and sharing when initiated by you.
Security: To secure our service using IP addresses and UUIDs for security policies.
Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve our application.
Account Deletion: To process and facilitate account deletion requests.
Support: To respond to support emails you send us.

3. Data Sharing

Here's how we handle your data with regard to third parties:

Service Providers: We use Supabase as our backend provider to store and process your data. Your data (including prayer content, IP addresses, UUIDs) is stored on their servers.
No Data Selling: We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
External Links: We provide links to third-party services (App Store, Play Store for ratings; Instagram; email client for support). Interacting with these links takes you outside our app, and their own privacy policies apply. We don't share your app data directly with them through these links.

4. Data Security

We implement several measures to protect your data:

Row Level Security (RLS): We use technical measures in our database to restrict access to data.
Secure Communication: Communication with our backend is secured via HTTPS.
Data Anonymization: We employ anonymization techniques for older, inactive data points like IP addresses.

5. Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your data in the following ways:

Notifications: You can enable or disable notifications in the app's settings at any time.
Account/Data Deletion: You can request the deletion of your submitted prayer requests via the "Delete Account" option. This action uses your IP address (or User UUID if logged in) to identify and remove your submissions. Note that records of prayers you made for others are retained to maintain the integrity of the prayer counts for those requests.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as necessary to provide our services. Older IP data associated with inactive prayer requests may be anonymized after a period of inactivity. You can request deletion of your data at any time through the app's deletion option or by contacting us.

7. Children's Privacy

Repent does not collect any data from children under the age of 13. Our services are intended for individuals who are at least 13 years old or the legal age of consent in their jurisdiction.

8. Updates to the Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you about any significant changes via email or through a notification in the app.
