Welcome to Repent!

By using our website located at https://www.repentapp.com ("Website") and our mobile application ("App"), you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Repent, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use our services.

2. Description of Services

Repent is a spiritual platform that provides the following services:

  • Sharing and submitting prayer requests
  • Praying for others' submitted requests
  • Access to spiritual tools including emergency response features
  • Free and premium features (additional features may be available to premium users)

3. User Conduct and Content Rules

As a user of Repent, you are responsible for all content you submit. You agree not to:

  • Submit content that is harassing, abusive, hateful, or promotes discrimination
  • Share content that infringes on others' privacy or intellectual property rights
  • Post content promoting illegal activities or that violates any applicable laws
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits or security measures implemented on the platform
  • Scrape data, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service in any way
  • Use the prayer wall or other features for purposes other than their intended use

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines and to suspend or terminate access for users who repeatedly violate our terms.

4. User Accounts

Some features of Repent may require registration or a premium account. If you create an account, you are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

5. Intellectual Property

The Repent app, its design, features (including the emergency response flow), and branding are the property of Repent and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

While you retain ownership of the prayer content you submit, you grant Repent a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your submitted content solely for the purpose of operating and providing the app's services.

6. Premium Features and Subscriptions

Repent offers in-app purchases and subscription services that provide access to additional features and content within the app. All in-app purchases and subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on the device used to download the app.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period, at the cost of the chosen package. You can manage subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your Account Settings after purchase.

Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

7. Disclaimers

Repent provides the following disclaimers regarding our services:

  • "As Is" Service: The app is provided without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee specific outcomes, such as answered prayers or effectiveness of emergency response features.
  • Not Professional Advice: The app, including the emergency response feature, is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, or religious advice. In case of emergency, please contact appropriate professional services.
  • User Content: We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of user-submitted prayer requests.
  • Service Availability: We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Repent, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Repent, its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against all losses, expenses, damages, and costs, including reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from any violation of these Terms of Service or any activity related to your account (including negligent or wrongful conduct) by you or any other person accessing the service using your account.

10. Privacy

Your use of Repent is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which can be found at repentapp.com/privacy-policy. The Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your data, including IP addresses, UUIDs, prayer content, and other information.

11. Termination

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Vietnam. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Vietnam.

13. Cancellation and Refund Policy

Subscriptions can be canceled at any time through your account settings in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Repent does not handle subscription cancellations or refunds directly as all in-app purchase transactions are processed through these platforms. Refunds for in-app purchases and subscriptions are subject to the refund policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

It is important to note that deleting the app or closing your account does not automatically cancel your subscription.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service to reflect changes in our services, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. Users will be notified of significant changes via email or through an in-app notification. The updated terms will be effective upon posting, and your continued use of the app after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

15. Your Rights and Choices

You have control over your data in the following ways:

  • Notifications: You can enable or disable notifications in the app's settings at any time.
  • Account/Data Deletion: You can request the deletion of your submitted prayer requests via the "Delete Account" option. This action uses your IP address (or User UUID if logged in) to identify and remove your submissions. Note that records of prayers you made for others are retained to maintain the integrity of the prayer counts for those requests.
  • Access/Correction: If you wish to access or correct your personal data, please contact us at hello@repentapp.com.
